Invite Freyja (Freya) Goddess of love, beauty and magic to strengthen your altar. One of the principal deities of the Norse pantheon, Freya (whose name translates to “The Lady”) is the goddess of love, beauty, sexuality, desire, fertility, enchantment and magic as well as the mistress of cats.
Freyja hails from Vanier an ancient tribe of deities that the Norse associated with wisdom, fertility and magic. She rules over Fólkvangr “Field of the People” in the afterlife where she receives half of those who’ve fallen in battle. As the ruler of the Valkyries, Freyja is also the goddess of war and death and after a battle she would split the souls of the dead warriors with Odin. Her magical powers are legendary as it was Freya who introduced the Æsir gods to seidr, a form of divination magic that allows practitioners to see and change the future.
Her magical objects include a cloak made of Falcon feathers that granted flight and a glittering chariot pulled by cats that she rides around the heavens. But Freya’s most prized possession was the golden necklace Brísingamen (“gleaming torc”). Brísingamen was made by dwarves and purchased for a questionable price reinforcing her reputation for promiscuity.
Freyja is often called into aid for love and marriage fertility and matters of the heart but she is a powerful goddess of magic and wealth that will help to strengthen any ritual.
This is our second edition of the goddess who started it all for us. She has a higher
detail level, the addition of clear Vegvisir triple goddess on her shield, both of her cats, and she comes in three new finishes - dark shiny bronze with silver, sparkly blue bronze with silver, and the winter white Yule variation that looks like a pencil sketch in 3D. We are working on bringing back the copper and black finish also.
Product Details: Our 2nd edition of Freyja stands 5" (13cm high), 4" (10cm) wide, and 2" (5cm) deep and weighs 24g. She is hand-finished in a proprietary process using powder blue, black, white, silver and bronzing materials to give her a unique and aged patina. Each one will vary slightly in terms of final shade and sheen.
All of our products are designed and individually 3D printed here in our home studio using a bio-safe, non-toxic, vegetable, wood fibre or sugar-cane based PLA. We then hand-finish each piece, usually smoothing and sanding them using a natural wood fibre material and then acrylic paints or glazes. The cured finishes are non-toxic but the metallic finishes do have the actual metals in them. This is a clean and local process and our materials are selected from those made in Canada or the USA. We are 100% NOT “Made in China” and take some pride in that. Through careful research and testing, we have found a great way to get around the toxic resin and moulding processes used in most of the statues on the market.
